SOUL2SOLE DANCE INC DANCE COMPANIES

Soul2Sole Dance Inc. offers two programs for dancers who desire to take their dancing to the next level. Soul2Sole Dance Company provides the very best technical and performance training while students learn valuable life lessons such as teamwork, leadership, work ethic, commitment, responsibility, and goal setting. Any dancer would love to be a part of our company atmosphere where our members respect, encourage, and support one another.

Auditions for the 2012-2013 dance season will be held the week of June 4^th – 9^th  2012

Company Elite: 9-18 yrs
Buffalo Grove location only

The commitment level is high but so are the rewards. The Company Elite program is for dancers 9-18 years of age (or by director approval) with an extensive dance background. Dancers in this program will meet 4-6 times per week at the Buffalo Grove studio dancing a total of 8-10+ hours per week. Company Elite members are taught by the best and most dedicated instructors at Soul2Sole. Our staff of professional and highly trained instructors know how to connect with children to produce great technical results while keeping the classes fun and upbeat. The students are taught proper technique in all areas of dance including ballet, lyrical, contemporary, jazz, and hip-hop. In addition, a strong emphasis is placed on how to be a great performer as well as auditioning techniques.

Company Elite members will be placed on the Company Elite roster for the 2012-2013 dance season. These dancers will potentially have opportunities to compete dances in Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical and/or Contemporary dance styles based on age and skill level. (You will not necessarily compete with the same group of dancers for every dance). Company Elite members will compete and perform these dances at dance conventions,  dance competitions, and recitals. Dancers will have a set schedule of classes that they must attend on a weekly basis. They will also have the opportunity to participate in dance electives such as solos, duos, trios, and extra group numbers. ***(Elective dances may be required to attend an additional dance convention/competition.) ***

COMPANY ELITE CLASS REQUIREMENTS

Your Company Elite technical class requirements are as follows: Ballet Technique- 3  90 min. classes/week, Jazz Turns and Progressions 1 60 min. class /week,  Stretch and Strengthen-1 60 min. class/week, and Hip Hop Progressions- 1 90 min. class/week. Company Elite members will also have several rehearsal hours per week each 60 min. long. These rehearsal hours are where choreography will be learned for competition. In addition, some dance company members may be required to take additional technical classes in a specific dance discipline in order to keep their Company Elite status. All of these class/rehearsal hours will be assigned to you and must be taken at the Buffalo Grove location.

DANCE ELECTIVES (solo/duo/trio/extra groups)

Dance electives will be given to Company Elite members that have completed at least one year as a Performing member of Dance Company. These electives are optional – you are not required to accept them. They are an additional cost and time requirement and you may choose NOT to accept them. Elective assignments are given to dancers who are at a superior technical level and are ready to take on more. They are in addition to your required dance hours per week. These assignments are the instructor’s choice and do NOT carry over from year to year. Please do not contact any staff member with requests for these assignments. We will NOT accept requests!

Company Prep  6-9 yrs.   Teams in both Buffalo Grove and Highland Park locations!

AND 

Company Too!  9-18 yrs.  Teams in both Buffalo Grove and Highland Park locations!

Prep is for students 6-9 years old (1st-3rd grade) that wish to begin the journey of competitive dance. 

Dancers in this program will be placed on a specific team and train 2-3 days per week in Ballet and Jazz for a total of 3.5 hours per week at the Buffalo Grove or Highland Park studios (depending on where you audition). These dancers will compete with their set team in 1 group Jazz dance. Prep members will attend 1 dance convention and compete and perform at competitions and recitals. They will have a set schedule of classes that they must attend on a weekly basis. Prep members are not eligible to participate in dance electives. (solos/duos/trios/extra groups)

PREP CLASS REQUIREMENTS

Your Prep technical class requirements are as follows: Ballet Technique-1  60 min. class/week, Hip Hop Progressions- 1 60 min. class/week, Jazz Turns and Progressions/Jazz Rehearsal-1 90 min. class/week. The Jazz Turns and Progressions/Rehearsal “hour” will cover Jazz technique as well as choreography that will be learned for competition. All of these class/rehearsal hours will be assigned to you and will be taken at the Buffalo Grove or Highland Park location (depending on where you audition).

Company Too is for students 9-18 years of age (3^rd grade and up) who wish to dance more seriously than at a recreational level, but train and compete less than Company Elite. Company Too bridges the gap between dancing for recreation and Company Elite.

Dancers in this program will be placed on a specific team and train 3 days per week in Ballet, Hip Hop and Jazz for a total of 5.5 hours per week at the Buffalo Grove or Highland Park studio (depending on where you audition). These dancers will compete with their set team in 1 group Jazz dance and 1 group Hip Hop dance. Company Too members will attend dance conventions and compete and perform at competitions, conventions, and recitals. They will have a set schedule of classes that they must attend on a weekly basis. Company Too members are not eligible to participate in dance electives. (solos/duos/trios/extra groups)

COMPANY TOO CLASS REQUIREMENTS

Your Company Too technical class requirements are as follows: Ballet Technique-1  90 min. classes/week, Jazz Turns and Progressions-1 60 min. class/week, and Hip Hop Progressions- 1 60 min. class/week. Company Too members will also have 2 rehearsal hours per week. Jazz (60 min.) and Hip Hop (60 min.). These rehearsal hours are where choreography will be learned for competition. All of these class/rehearsal hours will be assigned to you and must be taken at the Buffalo Grove or Highland Park location (depending on where you audition).

**It is recommended that any Company Too dancers that wish to become part of Company Elite in the future should also participate in  all dance conventions and train additional hours during the week.**

Company Elite- June 4th and 5th  6:30-10:30 p.m. (mandatory attendance on both days)
Learn Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, and Contemporary combinations and AUDITION both days 

Highland Park location:

Company Prep- Sat. June 9th   11:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.
Learn Jazz combination and AUDITION

Company Too!- Sat. June 9th   1:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m.
Learn Jazz and Hip Hop combination and AUDITION
